Dipy 35% down is about 5,350 for the DOW. That seems a lot. But would more than likely bring valuations to an acceptable level! I think today saw droves of institutional selling, interviews suggest that the average small investor is unfazed. If the 20% number is the trigger (and who could doubt Neff!) no doubt about it this could get very ugly.

If that happens I'll buy the solid low$ (not penny) small cap companies and might forgo the LSIs of the world. If and when a turnaround were to come, those low$ small caps will return 300%+ over a year or so as long as the fundamentals for the economy (and the company of course) have not changed.

What's your guess on LSI's low?

(one more quickie: If Hong Kong succeeds in defending its currency it'll be a miracle. I don't think it will happen. In fact when you see press releases about how the Hong Kong gov't "vows" to defend the currency you know the end is near!)

see ya.
