To: heinz44 who wrote (161575 ) 5/29/2009 4:31:19 PM From: marcos Read Replies (4) | Respond to of 313187 There's some real short-term playing here, for sure ... example iae.v, major enthusiasm on rumour then news turns out very good but not quite up to expectations, whoomp the mood turns ugly and really good cash flow per share doesn't matter any more, lol ... long term here is measured in minutes, different world, i play around a bit with it but only small amounts, one thing it helps with is keeping trade count up so i keep the seven-loonie commissions Good value shows up in that momo-player interest ... look at recent picks, all the oilsands and oils, aos stp npe ele bcf vst opc, etc, must be more, all decent companies that should do well once they recover from the initial spike and retrace, and the fact that now it's time for PMs One way to play them is apres-momo - let the next bottom manifest itself and then look at companies in light of the fundamentals ... many are the stocks i've done well on like this, whether getting hung with paper in the first big run or not ... example bmc.v [which just had its last day ever with that ticker], i got caught underwater by thirty per cent or something in my wife's brand-new rrsp account, for two or three months, maybe more, yet went on to do really really well with it in the big nickel push ... still gonna do well, got pan.ax shares coming now, just what i always wanted - odd lots of an offshore listing with outrageous commission cost, and i don't get to actually hold the damn things for six months, lol ... but at half price, that was the kicker on this go-round, and actually the bmc.v closed today right where we got most of it last winter anyway, so ye olde Sally Malay was free and gratis Most every stock i hold was strongly touted here or on the juniors thread at one time or another, and maybe half, that's how i first heard about them, or first developed an interest anyway ... it's sort of logical, because what would be the point of identifying and holding the most excellent stock on the planet for all time, i.e. ktn.v, if no one else cared ... better to wait till Red mentions it -g-
