jeff, >>From what I've read the stock market anticipates the economy, 6-9 months in advance. Would someone care to comment on this?

It is my opinion that right now there is so much uncertainty that no one can anticipate anything until the dust settles...one thing seems certain is that global economic growth will be given a downard revision.

Re: market anticipates by 6-9 months.

Not right now Jeff. I'm too busy with the next 6-9 minutes. :)

re Market anticipates econ: Thats the way it works some of the time- but today its more of a big game show. Like Wheel of Fortune. Yet I think someone has the wheel rigged, not bad enough so you'd notice, but enough so that some players can stimulate events (via media etc) such that they can make a billion or so here and there.

Still, the odds are with you if you pick good companies and be wary of thoughtless investing, ie momentum plays.

Options are usually a loosing bet, but you can shift the odds to your favor because sometimes the model used for pricing doesn't account for all of the fundamentals.
