IN Ca the gov't employees pay packages are insane.............I have a police chief in my town that already retired from another place where he draws about 200k a year on his retirement. He is now making another 250k from my town ( and that's before overtime ).

When the butthead retires he draws from my town too.........................he makes more than the joint chief;s of staff............now that could make a guy passionate against gov't pensions.

We have a few patrolmen who draw over 175k a year right now..................they make as much as a first year Kaiser MD.........that's nuts.

We are expected to pay their retirement at 90% with our s that just got halved...............another point that can make someone passionate about the inflated gov't pension plans.

We can't afford to pay the people that are currently working cause we are paying huge sums to people who are already retired.

Any company that was operating in the above fashion would b e bankrupt ( Chrysler and GM as examples ).

All the citizens of this country are going to be on the hook for all the state gov't pensions soon because the states are all operating in the red.

We have become a country where the biggest employer is the gov't..................Ca is sick of it and let's see what the rest of the country thinks when they have to roll over and pay up.

>>Arguing against truth? Skeeter, Skeeter, you are so emotional about public employees. I get it that you really hate the the "gravy train" that pubic servants get, Unfortunately you're not actually making any "economic" arguments.<<

don't assume that what you don't understand isn't an argument.

>>Imagine for the moment that all the tax currently paid goes to pay the retirement packages of public servants - that's a sunk cost. Now increase taxes, does all that go to increase retirement packages? Or is some/all used to actually increase services. Therein lies the bounds of the amount that house prices "might" drop.<<

if the legislature spent everything on retirement packages, the only LOGICAL conclusion is that they will continue to do so. you obviously failed psychology - you don't reinforce corrupt behavior or you get more it.

if you child spends the $1k you gave him for education on drugs, do you give him more and "hope" he spends it on education?

that is what you are arguing! wow. just wow!

i'm also not interested in $0.10 in service for $1.00 in taxes. that's another fallacy of your argument. government wastes too much money on their special interest greed bags and the citizens know it and are done paying.

btw, where is your list of services that we all get since the government is outspending population growth and inflation by about 60%. you can't give an answer, can you?

>>I love how you throw out the fact that runs counter to your thesis with "there were other factors." You're not actually prepared to make any economic arguments are you?<<

again, don't confuse absence with your absence of understanding.

>>I really, really want to see Live2Sails thoughts because he seems like a reasonable guy. You seem like a guy holding on to his sanity by a whisker. But maybe it's just your writing style. Bullet point like paragraphs? You watch Fox news a lot, right?<<

ah, the simple minded approach. i think bush was the worst president ever. i think all politicians are corrupt.

put your hands over your ears so your simple minded head doesn't explode.

it isn't my fault you over paid for your home.
