Threats from the government in order to coerce people into giving up contractual rights aren't "hardball business negotiations". Its political thuggery like you see in Venezuela and other banana republics.

There is no evidence that the gov't made threats except by the claims of a few dissident creditors who didn't get their way.

The argument that fascism has liberal roots is looking better and better.

"When fascism comes to the US, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross".
