Excellent TJ, you are teaching her the most important lesson = you are clueless. <she knows but still asks "dada, why is gold the best money?" > Note that she is unconvinced by your idea and is trying to see if there is any lurking rationality in your mind, just in case.

Perhaps she will decide that gold is in fact the best money, but she is not convinced or she would not ask more.

Already though, she intuitively knows that Qi is the best money, even though she has no idea about it other than the concept of reciprocity and the Goedelian self-referential existence in which we live. en.wikipedia.org She is evaluating for herself, using you only as a source of information and ideas. She trusts herself, not you. If she just trusted you, she would have no need to ask, but simply adopt said gold money and chant the liturgy.

The big problem with gold is that she has to trust that somebody won't steal it. Somebody won't steal gold? That is a ridiculous idea and gold is always stolen. It's a great thing to steal. Fungible, easily hidden, melted easily, reformed, etc etc etc

Can she trust governments? No, they even steal gold as the USA did. They find it easier to steal by dilution of fiat money than by confiscation of gold. Can she trust you? No, obviously. Who can she trust? She can trust herself. That's not entirely true but it's what we are stuck with - if we are wrong, nature recycles our carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, calcium, etc into a better form.

<<dada, why is gold the best money?>>

You are ruining the girl. You forget that you made your money boldly riding the dot com wave rather than hugging gold in the cellar.
