in 1986, prior problems were due to lung problems , and heart/chest pain, she was pretty much disabled. difficulty breathing, walking to the point she used to back up the car out of the garage to get the mail at the end of the driveway. doctor told her she was going to lose her leg if she didn't get the circulation going. All this damage was done in 1972 with numberous clots to lungs and heart stoppages. She survived those incidents being a very strong farm girl , never smoked or drank and always very active.. It was basically her will to not leave her three small children. one just turned a year old the day it happen and two others age 4 and 5. Her ordeal was written up in nejournal by mgh drs.

well she got up enough courage to push through the pain the youngest now being almost high school age. We walked nightly in chicago sub zero weather and winds each night to the point she worked up to two miles after two years.

we moved to philly area after closing the location in chicago. She was doing great the first four months then her legs started to collapse on her. I woke up in the middle of night and saw her all dressed ready to go to a wedding for friends who got divorced ten years earlier.. i knew i had a big problem on my hands when she was ready to go to their wedding.

it took six months of horror with doctors to finally determine brain tumor. Many assumed mental problem. Based on the findings we waited a year before the operation. We wanted that time to visit family, get the youngest through first year of hs. the oldest still in midwest at college and she would have graduated in a year. Plus we just wanted to be thankful for being able to do things like walk, etc before the surgery.
