"But the (R)'s are VERY corrupt, and project their corruption on everyone else."

I am seeing the same dynamic that swirled around the Clinton impeachment. The Republicans were so anxious to erase the stain of Watergate that they blew the whole thing out of proportion. Now, unlike with Watergate, they never owned up to the corruption that they brought to a high art under Bush. Now, they know it is there, but need to pin the same sort of stuff on the Democrats. And there are some individuals, but they still haven't found something that is as institutionalized as the whole Abramoff scandal. So, in their characteristic way, if they can't find something real, just make something up and pretend that it is real. They are hoping that if enough pretend hard enough, the media will figure there is so much smoke there has to be a fire and run with it.

Sadly, that hasn't really worked for them in years. Yet they are still gamely trying. It makes them look like loons, but you have to admire their persistence...
