What an ignoramus. Let me ask you - if the Bush administration was acting to manipulate prices why did they collapse beginning in June of last year? Why are they rising again now, despite Bush and Cheney not being in charge? Obama is already turning that around and it's really pissing them off because it will hurt their profits, The only way Obama might hurt profits of oil companies will be if he signs a windfall profits tax or some other special tax on oil companies. In other words, if he CONFISCATES their profits. His policies will work to increase oil prices and oil profits.

You are missing the point. We aren't debating math concepts here. We're talking about the unprecedented crony capitalism of the Bush admin that put oil company profits front and center in crafting our foreign policy. So.. now the US taxpayer currently owns 70% of GM and the UAW has made out far better than the bond-holders, all on Obama's watch. How many energy companies have been taken over by the government, and restructured with taxpayer dollars? And look at the percentage of profit in the wind and solar industry being subsidized by Obama.. Don't tell me about "crony capitalism". Obama is using taxpayer dollars to create a command economy that suits his misguided environmental and political agenda. Hawk
