That's actually about 30 or 31%. 8 out of 26.

But your point is taken. I would caveat with this. It wasn't capitalism that went bad. It was crony capitalism that went bad. Capitalism is good when the crony part is kept to a minimum. Now the federal government is overreaching and using the situation to grab more and more control.

wp, it is very simple. the boomers loved capitalism when they were working and monetizing much of their efforts and still spending more than they took in.

now that they are in debt and reaching retirement, it is time for someone else to foot their bills - and that is socialism / marxism.

isn't democracy grand as the major voting block votes its own self interest, the welfare of the nation be d*mned?

btw, since the boomers are reaching retirement, NOBODY will be elected on the platform of cutting any of those $50 trillion in unfunded obligations the government has promised.

they will get elected on squeezing more blood from working turnips or borrowing more money.

either way, it ends ugly when the whole system implodes upon itself.

of course, a politician could lie and then do the fiscally sound thing and cut off all social benefits to people wealthy enough to afford funding their own life, but that won't happen.

50 percent in America think Marxism is the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe that figure for an instant. I'm so sick of the fear mongering by the Right though - that same Right that got us into the mess we now find ourselves in - that I likely would say yes to Marxism favorable poll to just express my disgust.

It is not Marxism that people want but a government that responds to people instead of corporations. Not a government that throws out money to favored special interest groups but a government that works hand in hand to move America forward instead of backwards like we have moved the past eight years. Not a government that spends bushels on military expenses to the point that America now spends as much as the rest of the world on their military - but a government that spends on things that ordinary working people can benefit from; better and less energy use, biotech research, broadband access, better schools , better roads and bridges - and yes health care. Benefiting by making America able to compete with the rest of the world though, the Right seems to hate and drools out the word Marxist. ...... Well its not Marxist, but the same socialism that brings the mail to you and builds hospitals and provides electric power to many of us. You are missing completely in my mind where Americans stand and what Americans want going forward by reverting to throwing out hate filled words. If the Right continues to do that I will never vote republican again and I have sent them a lot of money over the years. Your choice.

Russia and China gave up Marxism and are on the way to owning the globe

Nonsense! Russia and China are authoritarian states where the leaders have control over the freedoms of the individuals. Yes Bush and Cheney would have loved to taken away the rights of the individual - and indeed some will argue they tried - but we have a Constitution and Bill of Rights that prevent governments such as exist in Russia and China. You may want a world such as exist in Russia where it is who you know and what you are willing to pay in bribes that determine winners - not me. You may also want a world such as in China where the smog is so thick that the quality of life sucks - not me. I just want a world where the working man gets as good a shake as the gambler or speculator. But then you think that is Marxist? If you think Russia and China are so great - why not move there?

"18 to 8...near 50 percent in America think Marxism is the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Have you ever thought of starting a survey company business? Not many people have the skill to make a few statements, and drawing on anonymous and unknown response motivations, come up with a blanket statement that covers the other 99.99999% of the population.
