Looks like the market would have to award JNJ and its competitors a higher PE for the stock to move up much. Like so many value plays, the question is how much is a given dollar per share of earnings worth in this market, and how much will it be next year?

Ten years ago, a lot of blue chips were grossly overpriced and had to catch up with their multiples by growing revenues and profits. WMT is the classic case, also trading around 1999 prices after steady growth since then.

For now, JNJ trades inline. Not the kind of overlooked value that turns me on but no doubt a very solid holding.
