We read some of the Sotomayor stuff. Looks to me as if the Reps are their own worst enemies on that one. Just silly stuff that will tend to undermine their substantive objections. I'm a bit surprised by the NYTimes role in all this. I'm going to have to read more about it but first take is that they are leaning too far backward. The classic pattern seems to be an attempt to write a balanced article, opposing points of view stuff, but frame it with the right wing frame in the headline and first paragraph, then lead the article with quotes that support that first paragraph. Last half is devoted to counter arguments. Rather strange bit.
