i had a contractor give a bid on a bathroom remodel. he said his ex wife was a school administrator and she's now pulling $125k + health benefits in retirement, all thanks to the newly unemployed CA tax payer. the problem isn't the $125k to do nothing for the state, the problem is that those who run the state and get $0 pension don't pay enough to the retired government class. he says his one regret is that he didn't become a fireman when he was younger. he'd be living off a big a fat pension right now instead of doing bids on construction jobs.
