Methyl Hydrates rear their head once in a while.

This is not a new thing. They have been known about for years.
Sub-oceanic crust contains enough Methyl Hydrate globally to fuel the world for centuries. It is everywhere.
It is kind of like frozen methane ice.

The technology is not there yet to harvest it or modify it for commercial use.
Once that happens though, WTI should drop to $3/bbl!
