Kalyan,

The Hang Seng closed down 1,438 points (-13.7%). Everyone here is looking for any positive signal from Wall Street. The Nikkei was off big too. on the bright side, I did open up an account to trade Hang Seng Futures (and Options on Futures) The dollar multiplier on the index is $50, and the margin requirements are $75,000 HK to get in, (per ftures contract) and if you lose 20% of that you get a margin call to restore the equity level back to $75,000. With this kind of volatility, they play it close to the vest. People were so worried here about the upcoming action on Wall Street that the day trader at CA Pacific had only traded two contracts today. The feeling is if Wall Street tanks again today, the HS could fall to 8,000 tomorrow.

Are we having fun yet???? I'll be getting up at 4:00 AM here (3:00 PM EST) to see what I need to liquidate to avoid margin calls. I have two equity accounts, and my equity percentages as of yesterday's close on Wall Street were 30.5% in one and 32% in the other. Oh well, I wanted excitement, and I guess I got it. Personally, I think the Stock Market god owes me one. Unfortunately, I don't think SHE sees it that way.

jess.
