One of America`s few late-term abortionists was shot and killed while acting as an usher in his church. George Tiller, infamous for late term abortions (a practice bordering on infanticide) was killed by 51 year old Scott Roeder of Merriam, Kansas Sunday morning at the Lutheran church in Wichita where Tiller was acting as usher. Tiller has been attacked before, having been shot in both shoulders by previous assassination attempts. He was known to ride in an armored car, use bullet-proof glass in his abortion clinic, and sometimes traveled with a body guard. Lifenews has an article that illustrates that the killer had no ties to any Pro-Life groups (see references). He apparently had some ties to the Montana Freemen, a militia group. Also, Mr. Roeder had served time in prison. Pro-life groups have unanimously condemned the murder. While the world is hardly worse off for the loss of Tiller (he was a mass murderer, after all) the murder of Tiller still was grossly morally unacceptable. Here the double negative principle applies; two wrongs do not make a right. Tiller was performing a heinous but legal act, and, while efforts were rightfully made to stop him by protesters and the like, acts of violence such as this are intrinsically wrong. If God says “Thou shalt not kill” He includes he means it. Tiller was a monster, but his monstrosity was predicated on ignorance. He was a practicing Christian, and seems to have believed in what he was doing. That is for God to ultimately judge, and Scott Roeder had no right to take Dr. Tiller`s hope of salvation from him. There was yet time to repent, and had God wanted Tiller to die He would have taken him. Roeder performed an act of evil, no matter that he was ridding the world of a slimeball. This is a case to watch carefully. I find it interesting that the Obama Administration just received a black eye over their DHS “Domestic Terrorism” report, then, surprise, surprise, an act of domestic terror occurs. Not that Roeder isn`t guilty, but what did the F.B.I. know? Could this have been prevented? Given the attitudes of the current government, it does cause one to wonder. Perhaps this was intended to be stopped in process so BHO could get his domestic terrorist, but Roeder slipped through their fingers somehow? The Oklahoma City bombing worked much that same way, with different agencies vying to catch the bombers in the act. I know that sounds paranoid, and I should really stop wearing Reynolds Wrap on my noggin. Still, I`m a person who does not believe in fortuitous coincidences, and this coincidence is most fortuitous where Barack Obama is concerned. We`ll see what action Obama demands, and what course Congress will follow. I have little doubt this will lead to calls for tighter control of militias, for gun control, the whole nine yards. This incident was tailor-made for the BHO`s; it involves pro-life people, religious people, guns, militias, property rights (Roeder had altered his licence plate to read “Private Property, Immunity Declared at Law, Non-Commercial American”) etc. It couldn`t have been better had it been written by Oliver Stone. At any rate, this works out remarkably well for the Obama Administration; they`ve got their poster-boy for gun control and have justified the DHS warning.
