Nadine, they are contradictory forces. Check through all my posts and you'll find one in which I list 4 key forces affecting the price of oil. Sometimes those forces move in opposite directions. In business processes, including pricing mechanisms, it's exceedingly common to have two variables moving in different directions, both of which act on the business outcome metric.
