I respect your view but i dont agree that qualification is the only qualification. By the way obama voted against Alito because he saw his decision almost always supporting big guy against the little guy whether it was big gov or big business. I might not agree that alito should be disqualified for that unless there is clear bias. Have to admit i am not lawyer and dont look that closely at their records. But where obama went wrong was voting against a clearly more moderate Roberts whose decisions he found much more balanced than alito and voting against him for political reasons as running for prez. He should apologize for that mistake if he wants to take ideology off the table going forward.
