Sotomayor did well in college, as I recall, graduating with honors, so I would hope that even if affirmative action got her in, her own abilities propelled her to honors. [Obama is another story...<g>] The overall problem with affirmative action is that undercuts minority individuals who are capable of making it on their own merit. When it comes to political appointments and jobs, there is no doubt that affirmative action is at play in the sense of filling slots.
