Nothing! We are losing perceived wealth that never existed. We waisted capital and should have been getting poorer over the years. The financial system provided the emperor his clothes. There is no way out that is not painful.Putting some of the loss on the rest of the world could decrease some of the short term pain (default on foreign debt or inflate)As Elroy has shown we could let credit crash (We are going in the wrong direction) as GDP goes up faster in tight money conditions(less booms and busts).
