I fully agree that we should have another mature woman on the Supreme Court. Many women have set the standards for women serving----does Sotomayor measure up to the standards of for example a Maggie Thatcher? There have been numerous women throughout history that people have admired and respected------a woman who serves on the Supreme Court should have those impeccable credentials. Does Sotomayor have those impeccable credentials and is she known and respected by a majority of Americans. Until Obama named her no one had heard of her. When one names an unknown to such a high position, the nominated should receive the closest of scrutiny for her personal views and the rulings made. She should be vetted thoroughly by Congress and the people-------as Obama was not vetted. By the way, Where's the birth certificate?

The Democrat party and its handmaidens in the press were not even evolved enough to nominate a woman for President. Not only that, they engaged in despicable, concerted misconduct against Hilary Clinton all aimed at discrediting her campaign and ultimately defeating her. They liked the idea of a male better. Obama's blackness was the cherry on top. The press and Dems also savaged Palin, while choosing a loser like Biden to be their VEEP candidate. The Dems and their henchmen also savaged Harriet Meiers when Bush nominated her to the high court. Janice Brown was similarly mistreated. The Dems also aided and abated Bill Clinton's serial mistreatment of women. So, puhleeze! The Dems are neanderthals when it comes to their treatment of women. They talk a good game, but the truth is that women are second class citizens in your party, San Fran Nan notwithstanding.
