It seems more and more plausible to me that those leveraging down this market are the fund managers whose fiscal year ends on the 31st. They are taking this world turmoiled mkt and selling to lock-in gains (which equate to their bonus size) and to pay capital gains taxes.

I believe this a major reason/fuel that HAD been feeding US downslide after the asian downtrend over th past week. After Friday, it went beyond these just these mgrs and emotionally effected almost everyone.

If you can withstand the immediate reversal most (ESPECIALLY CPQ) will return to their old highs and then some.

P.S. ........

Wouldn't this be a good/appropriate/advantageous/reassuring time for CPQ to use some of its cash reserve to boy back some of its stock ????

cpq is down 25% and dell is down 22% from their highs
