the whole process is to maximize tax revenue.

the first dollars go to fire, police, etc...

the problem is that nobody will pony up more tax money to pay for illegal immigrant free education or advertising for free medical care that is better than the average employer medical benefit. or the garbage board - they make over $100k and meet once a month. arnold put his secretary on it.

oh, and i bet the pension for being on that garbage board is fat, too. after all, picking up garbage is bleeding edge rocket science, no?

It would be interesting to see some hard numbers on what the impact of capping publicly funded pensions at something like 3x social security payments would do for California's budget.

Is the pension issue a real issue or is it just a red herring?
