A very good collection of links to individual stories. It's tough to judge the magnitude of the problem without seeing aggregated numbers.

Nothing more complex than addition (we've all seen the damage that's so easily done by derivatives analysis...)

It would just be nice to see median and mean gross pension outlays (including any healthcare, education, golf course membership, etc. commitments) vs. gross tax revenues for the various entities that have granted pensions.

However disgusting some of the numbers are, if they amount to <10% of the gross receipts (or something like that) it's no big deal.

But even if they're mostly Social Security sized payments to each pensioner, if they amount to >25% of gross revenue, it's a big problem (IMHO).
