Here is Tero in "The Team" at GC Research Ltd. gcresearchltd.com [Edit... I see GG beat me to it] It always seemed a ridiculous waste of talent for him to ditch neurobiology [his PhD project] and go into ranting about the fine points of keyboard layouts and other ephemeral minutiae of cellphones and cyberphones [and now I guess netbooks, smartbooks etc].

In BP Oil, there was a guy who was a brain in the chemistry world who I thought should try to use zeolites to make gasoline from methane in a single step [leaving out the traditional methanol process]. He went into crude oil trading, got an expense account, didn't have to fill in R&D time sheets, got a big pay increase. Such a waste. With rotten pay rates in the back-room it's not surprising people move into the flim flam world of marketing, yellow braces, lunches, expense accounts, girls and fast cars.

Inventing a better brain would be great. I could have done with a lot more horsepower. Commenting on a better keyboard layout is good, but not really going to move the world.
