The president and ElM are not blue-eyed blond-haired multi-decade old blokes so are obviously confused. ElM, you are supposed to be the Wayoman but you can't see it.

Are you aware that Iran is one of the world's big hydrocarbon exporters?

Do you know that Iran has one of the world's largest hydrocarbon reserves?

Do you know that Iran is planning to pipe gas to India to burn in power stations?

Do you understand that such pipelines cost a LOT of money?

Do you realize the pipeline would go through Pakistan which is not always on super good terms with India?

Can you do arithmetic? Not maths, just arithmetic?

Here we go with arithmetic:

1.....Nuclear power station + thermal power station + pipeline = $x billion

2.....Nuclear power station + thermal power station = $y billion

Which is bigger, x or y if the power stations are the same output?

When you go shopping, do you see if you can spend more than you need to, or do you do it as cheaply as you can [such as buying monkeys facing backwards]?

As you can see from that arithmetic, it's cheaper to build a nuclear reactor in India and a thermal power station in Iran, shipping the uranium to India and burning the gas right there at the well-head.

Why would Iran want to spend more than necessary to maximize their income from their oil and gas and uranium reserves?

Not only is that arithmetic easy to understand for people of lighter colouration, even without blue eyes, than Lula, you, and Obama, Iran already has the gas whereas their uranium reserves are more limited. parstimes.com But look how much oil they have: eia.doe.gov and gas: eia.doe.gov

It would obviously be far more economic for Iran to build a vast petrochemicals industry using their oil and gas, and to ship the uranium and maybe oil to India.

If they build a nuclear reactor in Iran, and a pipeline to India, Pakistan will break the pipeline and Israel will break the nuclear reactor. If they build the nuclear reactor in India, save the money on the pipeline and build gas and oil burners in Iran, nothing will get broken and everyone will be happy and things will be a LOT cheaper.

I met an Iranian maths professor who was attending an international maths conference in Japan. He seemed to be quite capable of adding up such numbers. I bet he's not the only one in Iran who can do it.

Something doesn't make sense. What extra information could make it make sense? Hey, what if Iran wants nuclear bombs?!! Now there's a thought. Why on Earth would they want nukes? They do discuss how good it would be to obliterate Israel. Nukes would be very useful to do that. They might be useful in confrontation with the USA too, if push came to shove.

Have you got any better ideas? We could ask somebody with white skin, blond hair AND blue eyes.
