"I support a woman's right to an abortion. What say you?" I say you don't have the first clue about what is right for human beings. You are locked in service to a social agenda that is heartless. Women in this country have the right to real resources, policies, and support as citizens, with or without children. The social revolution of the last half century to obtain independence has left many of them vulnerable, abused, distressed, and disenfranchised with no place to turn for help. It has left them with the perception that children will bind them to a life of unsupported suffering, victims of social opprobrium, unwelcome in society's institutions, and with the doors of opportunity closed forever. I think a man has the right to steal if he is starving, or trespass if he is freezing. Similarly, a woman who destroys the life of her unborn child is demonstratively exercising her options in the desperation of her circumstance.
