Yours was better. But I guess they don't get many floods in NYC.

"Grasshopper" hangs himself in Bangkok. startribune.com David Carradine died by hanging in a suspected suicide in Bangkok, Thailand. That makes me sad. I was never a big "Kung Fu" fan, but thought he was great in "The Long Riders." David played Cole Younger and his fight with Belle Starr's husband was a highlight. But his "Revenge of the Nerds" brother, Robert, had the line of the movie, which expressed what I'd always felt about tensions in the James/Younger Gang. They robbed a train and the youngest Younger brother climbed on top of the boxcars to reach the engine, where he forced the engineer to stop the train.

"Are you Jesse James?"

"Jesse James rides with the Younger Gang, and I'm Bob Younger." <G> Great line.

My parents once lived near David Carradine in Fremont, California. He was living with Barbara Hershey at the time. Both actors were at low points in their careers, with their latest venture, "Boxcar Bertha", flopping in theaters. David and Barbara were reputed to be heavy dopers, though I have no proof of that. I saw them on the street a couple of times, but didn't know them. I can tell you that Barbara Hershey was hotter in person than on the movie screen, and that's pretty damned hot. He was always smiling, as I would be if I were getting into that every night. <G>

I don't know what caused the suicide, if that's what it was. I do think the concept of hanging himself in the closet was an odd one. They have some folks in Bangkok who can make murder look like suicide and I haven't heard about a note. But, then, the closet may have been the best place to tie a rope.
