Yes they went to experts who actually built it, who experimented, and engineered and actually built something.

Much different than an argument from authority. Some experts said that the bomb couldn't work or that it might set the atmosphere on fire. On most issues you can find experts for both sides.

Having an expert do expert work for you makes sense. Listening to what experts have to say makes sense. But differing to someone's political opinion, or accepting them as some sort of unquestionable authority, just because they are an expert is foolish.

Beyond all that I don't think the other people on this thread are experts in relevant matters, and they are the people you wanted me to differ to.
