We are born into this world in a condition of enmity for one unto another. Rising above that nature to live a life practically caring for the well being of one unto another and to creatures in general is done only with conscious and lucid effort, often involving struggle. Torture has a context which goes beyond the behaviors you described. Even if you had bad feelings toward one of your patients over the years, what you did could not be termed as torture as it is defined in our statutes. Likewise, many of our incidental endeavors may bring a certain amount of suffering without qualifying under our statutes as torture.
