I actually care more about our oil dependence than I do about coal. However, I still think that longer term we'll find that using the sun, wind, waves, and thermal power sources will be more cost effective for our economy than coal, when you look at all the negative financial impacts of coal to our macro economy.

However, if I could only get one thing on my wish list, it would be to be oil independent. That means we need to conserve and substitute our oil usage. Accomplishing this goal will do more good for our country than any other single issue that is on our government's plate.
