The internet itself was the paradigm technology shift, although certainly the networking sites and blogs are novel and changing the way people gather information and exchange ideas with each other. The thought occured to me actually as I was looking for possible new names in the stock world. I was thinking how long it had been since the world was given a Microsoft, Apple, Google, or even a Wal-Mart, which could possibly be seen as a paradigm shift in marketing techniques. So my thinking was somewhat limited to commercially viable new ideas. The only name that popped into my head was perhaps Intuitive Surgical.
