Also I'm calling for reducing future increases in benefits so that the program will be (to use i-node's term) "actuarily stable", and generally affordable. Well, so am I. But I'm also calling for an increase in funding... yes taxes. If you do a little on both the revenue and benefit side you can easily fix the future problem and not have too onerous a side effect. Medicare... now that's a huge problem. Nobody debates it because nobody has a clue how to fix it. Eyes shut tight... hope for a miracle.
