"caused great damage to those micro cultures" You seem to have a very one dimensional view of the world. I can recall welfare regulations which did not allow the father to live in the home to qualify for aid. Very damaging unintended consequences as a result. Current drug laws continue to have very destructive consequences. Some relatively well off kid gets busted and the family buys his/her life back. (Good for the lawyers). Some poor kid just gets his/her life irreparably ruined. Just a couple of other major society destroying forces that come to mind. ARS
