THE SAUGER and Walleye are pretty close and counted as one or the other we catch both of these but less of the sauger one only real difference is there colors

Naw not even close too being the same or eating for that matter.

I get your drift philv.. but that pickerel is certainly no pike.. Pike is much bigger.. but I know you could look at what I called a pickerel and call it a pike as it sure looks like one.. but it doesn't get very big.. The Walleye (your pickerel) I agree with you though mostly called a pickerel everywhere else in Canada I've gone after leaving my little corner of Quebec.. Taxonomy says your pickerel is a walleye BUT if I want other Canucks to know what the heck I'm talking about it's a pickerel and the pickerel is a baby pike ;o)
