Yup when you grab them you have too push that fin down and if you don't you'll be bleeding.

Jack fish teeth if you get cut by them you'll get an infection if your immune system on the low side

The dorsal fin is as sharp as a razor. Sans doot. You could use them in a fight.

The gills are also sharp and the scales like sandpaper.

Best eating fish, some say. Actually whitefish, Brook Trout and Kokanee Salmon come very close in quality. Lake Superior trout are damned fine too.

Another point is that the walleye flesh is extremely low in fat, less than 0.5%. It also keeps its flavour in a freezer for a long time. It's eyes will glow in the dark like a cat's.

The walleye exists in a predatory cycle with yellow perch and if reduced in population will allow the perch population to explode. This makes it difficult to restock a lake with fry as the perch feed on Walleye fry. Like pike, the females are larger and get that way earlier. If you catch a large pike or pickerel chances are it's a female.
