The BLS numbers are, well, just numbers. Here is why. The stats are based on looking at workers, i.e, the employees category. Not at the employers category. As we know we must consider the supply (workers) but should consider the demand (employers) as well. Here comes the vagabundo into the picture. He is Quality Controller who wants to work, doing what he has done before. He was working with Verizon. All buildings should be fire proof. His job description should look that all safety concerns were passed to his table for stamping. The market for POTS (plain Old Telephony Services) is dying. No more buildings being built. All construction is now pole climbing in flash without concerns for fire since the cabinets are at road side or at roof tops. Safety guaranteed by redundancy and flexibility. Even if the damn thing catches fire, we truck one * COW over and replace (Actually I never ever have seen one damaged by fire). *(Cell On Wheels) The employer would say that this 50+ is as useful as a Dodo Bird. An anti-environmentalist like me always say: I am not missing a Dodo Bird. If the Dodo bird would be useful, he would had survived. Turkeys will never become an endangered species. I have seen many specialists who thought his profession would last forever. They thought they were needed until we discovered they were a nuissance. They held a pseudo-job that did not contributed to the output. To the service that that company was selling to the buyers. Elmat 50+ self employed since 1993. And liking it!
