Affects my family in three out of four:

1. Cut diagnostic imaging tests like MRIs and CAT scans.

2. Reduce the use of antibiotics.

3. Perform fewer Caesarean sections.

4. Cut care for management of chronic back pain

They can get away with this because none of these items kill you.

I don't see how they can ration medical care for people who pay for their own and their own insurance. It just makes no sense.

Oh good grief...and if that Obama care passes, it will be GRIEF!

Rudi, talk to your Doc now and see if there is anything you can do BEFORE this mess would pass....

I will have a similar situation. The cyst I have so far hasn't grown, but where it is it could either be or become cancerous so the Doc's recommendation is a CT scan every 3 months, possibly for some time in the future.

I can see cutting antibiotics for colds, but sure can't see that for serious bacterial infections....

I hope that every single one of us and the people we care about, pay attention to every word this President says, clip the papers if necessary, and GO to every local meeting if it is possible, and IF they are held. There is a good chance the Congress will try to pass this WITHOUT the people even knowing what is in the bill.

To Everyone who is on GITS....As I said, because of some of the experiences I've had within the last year, I hope that everyone here will pay complete attention to every word in the proposed medical directives from our Government.

Personally, I've found the current care to be mostly excellent, certainly from the Doctor's part...BUT where I do want to caution all of you....and hope you will call now to your own Doc and your husband's or wife's Doc....

l) Find out what hospital they practice in if some emergency arises for you or your loved one.

--This definitely makes a difference as to where you are taken for treatment.

2) THEN, ask the Doc IF he/she will be the attending Doc if you are admitted to the hospital.

--If the answer is No, then ask: "Who will be in charge if you aren't going to be there".....

--Chances are, they will say there will be a Hospitalist (that you don't know) but that who is SUPPOSED to correspond with your own Doc on your care....

--Then at that point, each of us will have some thinking to do....

--It will be OK if the condition is pneumonia or some such, but I can vouch for the fact that it will NOT be OK if the condition is something like a failed disc and a compressed nerve in the spine.... You MUST have a specialist for some of the things that happen to us.

When you or your loved on is in severe pain is not the time to guess....some of this we must now know in advance, for our own sakes and some peace of mind.
