What 'trouble' is it to follow the smarter policy... increasing the possibilities for a non-Pyrrhic win, as opposed to running our costs up painfully high and losing far more then is even on the table to win?) I refer, of course, to winning global support for our actions instead of losing that support and losing the propaganda war that would undoubtedly be waged against us if we were foolish enough to step into such an obvious trap. (That, and of course the better option of not forever losing our alliances with South Korea and Japan by bringing about artillery and or missile barrages upon their heads - possibly costing several hundreds of thousands of allied dead - while not even being able to claim the moral high ground any longer because we would be tricked into 'firing first' and 'starting the war'.)
