So when someone claims that a “wise Latina” would make a better decision than a white man in terms of social justice, I call foul. A little friend of mine called History says something different. His friend called history seems to be suffering from little dementia. I will agree that in very few societies do the controllers of power give up that power easily and that was also very true in this country. It took women over 150 years to get the vote. It took blacks 150 years to get free and then another 100 to get treated equally. The white man's social justice takes considerable patience.
