A new system is available which has a network backbone faster than that at the NASDAQ. It allows traders to become the market maker, and thus lock the market. When you place a buy or sell order, for example, you do not preface just one market maket, but you simultaneously preface ALL of them...thus you execution is instantaneous, as is your report and account status update.
