The difference between this new H1N1 swine flu strain and the seasonal flu is that since there is no resistence to the new H1N1 swine flu strain a lot more people are likely to get sick from this flu. It will be a lot more widespread and disruptive than the seasonal flu. Don't forget that the 1918 H1N1 flu outbreak started out mild in the Spring of 1918, then got a lot worse the following fall and winter. Sound familiar. That is what the WHO is trying to prepare the world for, a possible pandemic that infects 30% of the world population and causes millions of deaths.
