What privileges did you get for being white in your school? Public schools have had a long history of providing facilities for like minded students to meet after school. Why should the gay students be treated any differently? Yeah, sports, drama, band .... not stuff involving sexual activity thats inappropriate for teens to be getting involved in. Its not about sexual activity......its about like minded kids hanging out together....like drama, like band, like Spanish club, etc. Do you propose they form clubs for stoners, sluts, over-eaters, .... ? Actually the activities they normally have clubs for are for things that promote healthy development and useful skills. Sports promote exercise. Band promotes musical talent, appreciation, and even exercise too. Spanish, etc promotes language learning. Yadda yadda. Gay clubs don't promote anything but being gay, which happens to be an unhealthy thing. What do you mean the gay kids were quite active? Doing what? And how did you know? They let it be known they were gay. You're a true homophobe, aren't you? How did they let it be known? And no. I still believe gay bashing is more likely to happen if gays make a spectacle of themselves which is a bad idea and inappropriate in HS and jr HS's. I think you need some sensitivity training. You need a dose of common sense. What I said was simply realistic. As for there being no gay bashing at that particular school, thats probably the ordinary situation. Like I said,I know a couple people who turned out to be gay and they weren't bashed in school. One played football and baseball - ie was a jock. Yup. Someone like him could pass but if a guy's in the slightest bit effeminate, and that doesn't mean he's gay, he's in for a whole bunch of sh*t. Don't look now, but you just admitted the real thing that makes one a potential target of bashing isn't being gay per se but looking and acting like a sissy or a weakling.
