Analysts upgrades used to tell you where the sales force was going to push churn for commissions. I always looked at the free advice as "sales talk" that worked as long as the market kept going up. Also, you need some reason to get folks to sell other stocks so the downgrades to hold were useful to spring cash to churn to the newly upgraded stocks.

A high rating by TMF tells you a lot of those who buy stocks already own it...

Like you I own WFR. I have been trading in and out of WFR as well on a short to medium term basis. So far, I like it as a "trading stock"

Don
