Exactly when they start and stop isn't all that predictable. But, other than that, our rains are generally associated with cold fronts and tropical events. It is not unusual to go from, oh April or so through September without a drop of rain. Especially the past couple of decades. It is a little different right on the coast, but the further you get from it, the less likely it is to happen.
