I have pedigrees as far back as conventional research will get them on all my lines. Unfortunately many of my lines were from the south and kept moving as new lands opened up on the "frontier." Records can be few and far between, especially back in the 1700s. And in many cases, courthouses were burned during the Civil War, so the records that were kept were destroyed. With many of my lines, I'm pretty sure DNA will be the only thing that will eventually help. The big coup is when you get a match between one of your lines and someone back in Europe.
