as a jewish kid growing up in America, sandy was as big a deal as the victory in the six day war. Blew away the holocaust which dominated my early years. Imagine growing up with those images of the camps--you dont have to imagine do you. I used to look at the bodies being dumped in the pits and wonder which ones were my cousins, uncles, aunts.
