The election was a sham to begin with. The mullahs are still in control as everyone knew they would be, and regardless of who "won" the election they were going to proclaim the incumbent terrorist the winner. They need a hardliner as president right now because not since the late 70s have they had such an opportunity to roll over a weak American president.
