Because they are threatening the very existence of our democracy. Our government is $60 Trillion in the hole because of failed social programs, labor unions, and government spending that is so out of control we can scarcely afford to protect our own country.

Insane corporate income taxes mean our industry cannot compete with that in other countries, and prices here are higher than other countries for that reason. Higher prices forces higher wages, higher wages mean we can't compete in the global economy and the result is jobs being shipped overseas.

And now, China controls us because they can simply stop buying our debt if they choose to do so.

So, yeah, government and taxes are dirty words, and liberalism is the root cause of it.
