All Cheney, Rumsfeld and the neocons had to do to get W to sign on to invading Iraq was tell him: "You can FINISH the job your father should have, and remove Saddam! How many times have you had to defend him for that mistake? He was too timid. He was a wimp! You can be a WAR PRESIDENT, a strong COMMANDER IN CHIEF, with all the political support that automatically brings!" I'm sure W heard versions of this at different times from all of the neocons. For an intellectual and emotional teenager like W, he didn't have a chance.
